Youâll learn how happiness shifts from something we seek to something we create, and how simple daily moments can become powerful sources of well-being.
This episode draws from the research of Sonja Lyubomirsky and Kristin Layous, whose work shows that personalized, intentional habitsâlike savoring and gratitudeâcan significantly increase happiness.
This Weekâs Happiness Challenge: The Happiness Anchor
This week, I want you to shift from seeking happiness to noticing and amplifying it in your daily life.
- Choose a Happiness Anchor â Each day, pick a simple, everyday moment that brings you joy. Something you already do, like a hot shower in the morning, stepping outside for fresh air, or winding down at night. This will be your happiness anchor, a moment to consciously pause and recognize happiness. You can stick with the same anchor all week or choose a new one each day, whichever helps you notice happiness more intentionally.
- Turn Up the Volume â When you experience this moment, take an extra 10-15 seconds to fully immerse yourself in it. Pay attention to what makes it enjoyable, whether itâs the warmth of the shower waking you up, the scent of the air, or the feeling of calm.
- Capture It â Each day, either write down your happiness anchor in a journal or take a quick photo of it on your phone. The goal is to build a collection of tiny happiness moments that prove happiness isnât something to search for, itâs already here, waiting to be seen.
